The quintessential summertime Hawaiian coastal painting. “Anini Beach Dip” is part of my Dreaming of Kauai collection.

This Hawaiian mangrove tree offered just enough protection from the sun and then the quick rainshower on beautiful Anini Beach on the Garden Island of Kaua’i in Hawai’i. It was painted from a memory of a day at the beach with my favorite cousin Ann. She wore the most beautiful white beach blouse, which got soaked in the little rain shower. So she hung it over the branch of the tree we were sitting under. When the sun came back shining through, we went for the most amazing swim in the clear blue Hawaiian water. Anini Beach is a magical place, and it’s captured in this painting.
