Serenity Found is a place of resilence away from all the noise and into the wild of the wilderness. My kayak, named Santee, takes me to those places. In the blazing days of summer and in the cold of a Florida winter, I bring my river boots along, just in case I decide to go for a romp in the river.
The best days in the river are those right before the rising storms threatened to dump a bunch of rain for the plants to soak in. It adds a certain energy to the paddle and the reflections seem to sing.
... You are the painter of your own world.
“Said the river: imagine everything you can imagine, then keep on going.”- Mary Oliver
Watch as I paint in front of a live audience at a gallery and then in my art studio. Here I create a dramatic scene of a sailboat sailing in the rough sea on a stormy day through an electric cloudscape.
From the whimsical mixed-media expression of a sailboat to the more serious and dramatic interpretation of a sailboat.I present my award-winning Sailboat and its Crew.
There is a thrill that comes when painting in front of a live audience! It’s a chance for me to open the curtains and let the world see how a painting is created.
I guess I’m a performance artist at heart who enjoys creating masterpieces while interested people watch, which is why I do live paintings almost every time that I do an event. You can see that I do enjoy painting with my hands, especially when I’m painting clouds and movement.
A while back, before social distancing and a proper vernissage was the norm, I set my stage by hosting a solo art show for my VIP Patrons called Reflections and Water - scenes from Tampa Bay and Beyond.
The painting I was creating took on a dynamic and spirited energy of a sailboat cutting through the water of the rough sea. The bold brushstrokes of deep blues, white and gold told the story of the quality of the air that tumultuous day out on the sea. And the crew was showing off its skill as they shifted over to the port side of the boat.
With Brave Wings She Flies is an autobiographical type journey that has been years in the making.
I am Delighted to announce that she is being represented by ArtKaroo Arthouse in Oudtshoorn, South Africa.
This mixed media creation appears to be so simple with its clear lines and shimmery blues. But alas like in many of my paintings… there is more to it than meets the eye. I sense that some people experience this when they see my dragonfly painting.
Here’s a look under the microscope.
Shells, rocks, and fossils form the spine of the dragonfly. Notice that there are seven of them… do you see the connection to there being seven chakras? Watch the video to learn more.
Can you sense the breeze flowing through the palms and over the shimmering blue of the pool?
My vision in painting Infinity Pool is to bring the viewer along on an immersive experience of a memory of mine. I want you the viewer to have the desire to dive into the cool water of the pool on a balmy summer morning. To smell the salty air coming off the Atlantic Ocean and hear the seagulls off in the distance.
With most of my paintings, I tend to use one brush throughout the entire process, and I don't even wash the brush often. It's surprising to see colors pop up on the canvas from other parts of the painting.
However, in order to capture motion, I used my trusted fan brush to paint the palm trees' palms, giving the impression that they are flowing in the wind. As I painted those palm, I imagined that I was painting long flowing hair or sea oats on the sand.
The Infinity Pool is one from my Slice of life Collection. You see I’m an expressionist painter who paints stories of life.
A Sign Of Hope is a multi-layered, intuitive mixed media painting.
What I value most right now in my work is connection, nature, beauty, imagination, and wellness.
My paintings are inspired by nature and how humankind interacts with that nature.
My mixed media pieces like A Sign Of Hope are inspired by intuition well as things that are happening worldwide. I capture those things on my canvas and they become works of art that I can continue to work back in to.
A Sign Of Hope is rather poignant right now as it is something that I am working through with the pandemic that we are in right now.

Caroline Karp Artist is demonstrating painting with acrylics, her acclaimed Slice of Life painting called The Infinity Pool of South Beach.
This piece was loving made after a vacation to South Beach Miami. If you’ve ever been there, then you know that it’s a magical place unlike any other place.
People look and act differently while they are visiting. I can’t explain why … it’s just a different experience.
The inspiration for this piece occurred just after sunrise one morning during my stay at The National, on South Beach Miami. I have never seen an infinity pool quite this beautiful.
The movement of the lone swimmer disrupted the extreme calmness of the water in the pool. The reflections of the surrounding objects started to move with the water as well as the edges of the pool became undefined.

I’m painting the dance party at Zoe. This is part of my community outreach at First Friday Seminole Heights.
This mixed media piece called, “Big Ol Full Moon” is a creative journey from the outside to the inside which I decided to embark on during the CoVID 19 pandemic. I figured since I had a bit of time on my hands, I would put it to good use.
I created Big Ol’ Full Moon using my 5 step Intuitive Painting process. I’ll show you a few of those steps here.
The journey began by writing words down the middle of the canvas… all words that I would use to describe me.
I was pondering over who sees out… like at any given time. Who encounters and interprets my world. Which persona of me and if none of these, then who or what.
Kinda deep… that’s what artists do, they think deeply.
Behold the beauty of a freshly bloomed flower. Vibrant, certainly. But beyond that: a work of art.
Beautiful original artwork can be an anchor that realigns us out of fear and into a place of love and delight.
“Connecting with other artists putting together the International Online Art Collective has been energizing to me.

The Dance of the Sunflower Warrior
We were told to stay home and be safe, but who among us knows how to Be home?
For me, Being home means being in my studio. I am so fortunate to have space to paint, practice yoga, and to live at my studio.
During this time of sheltering in place, I have created a few spaces to paint here. One is inside with the air conditioning, away from humidity. The second is on my screened in patio, away from the mosquitoes. And my third studio is outdoors, in nature (my garden).
This studio was created on the day that I wanted to work on a larger triptych. I had a vision of creating this piece called The Dance of the Sunflower Warrior, a tribute to The resilience of nature and all of humanity.
The Dance of the Sunflower Warrior embodies my passions of yoga, painting, movement, and flowers... listen to learn more.
Yoga & Painting in NC
You may not know this about me – each year for the past 12 years I have been drawn to travel up to North Carolina from my small town of Safety Harbor, Florida.
Connecting with nature and the scenery informs my art in a different way there.
This retreat was quite special. It had a built-in yoga and painting deck.
This painting weaves the story of the wedding day of supermodel Kate Upton and Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander, and I the artist.
Through the magic of social media, I saw a photo of this flower arrangement for the couple's wedding reception and decided to create my masterpiece. I know that Kate LOVES flowers because Justin surprised her with a series of my sunflowers back in 2014. I was contacted by his financial planner to have the paintings shipped overnight to the hotel where the couple was staying. Justin was pitching against the Chicago Cubs at the time and wanted to surprise Kate for her birthday. What a special gift!!!
I’m honored to have paintings hanging in their home.
