Chesapeake Day At the Races… Racing Sailboats is a 32×40 Acrylic piece made of two 16×40 inch gallery wrapped canvases. The image shows 4 sailboats very close as they make the turn. The details are in the lines of this piece so zoom in and take a look.
Here is the story about this piece. I painted it during an art show and artist talk (A Taste of Georgetown) in the heart of Georgetown, DC. I was inspired to paint the image after watching a regatta from a boat and really close up. I was amazed that the boats didn’t knock into each other when it was time to turn around the buoys.
A blustery sky
The wind blowing in your face and stinging your eyes.
There’s energy in the air as racing boats turn the corner
Imagine living on the bay, the ocean or your own boat and seeing this as you look out your window.
What if you could see this every day?
