Sea Oats 9 12×9 Mixed media on paper

Inspired by Monet this series of Sea Oats studies the color of the sky at all stages of the day. What else does one do on a wintery day by the beach with all the time in the world???

Sea oats are so breathtakingly beautiful… especially when they are dancing in the breeze. When I was a child they were plentiful on the beaches. Over the years I’ve been noting their slow disappearance from our coastlines due to coastal erosion and global warming. 4 o’clock sky where the sun is starting to move toward the horizon on a clear day.
