Intuitive Kauai is an original oil on linen painting, measuring 72 inches wide by 26 inches high, created on unstretched canvas.

I painted this work intuitively during a live Creative Genius Studio session in my studio. It began as abstract color and form, guided by movement, memory, and instinct rather than reference. As the painting evolved, a familiar landscape emerged—Kauai revealed not as a literal place, but as an internalized vision shaped by years of lived experience and repeated painting.

Working with luxurious oil paint on linen, the process felt sculptural, as though I were carving an image from within the surface.

Layers were built, pushed, and refined until the landscape came forward naturally, carrying depth, atmosphere, and presence. The linen allowed the paint to respond with clarity and richness, giving the work a tactile, almost luminous quality.

Intuitive Kauai lives in the space between abstraction and articulation—where memory becomes form and intuition guides the hand. It invites the viewer into a landscape that exists both in the physical world and within the imagination, holding the energy of place, process, and time.
