Some views invite a slower pace—trees lean in, water reflects, and the shoreline becomes a place to breathe. The Long Way Home — Shoreline, Safety Harbor emerged from the middle moments of my daily route in Safety Harbor, Florida, when movement settles into observation and the ordinary becomes unexpectedly beautiful.
Painted in Safety Harbor, the work later traveled internationally through exhibitions across Italy. For its overseas journey, the original large-scale painting was divided into three canvases, allowing it to travel safely while evolving into a triptych. Returning to my studio afterward, the work carried the memory of place—and the imprint of travel—within its layers.
Reflection shapes the mood here. Color rests into balance, and the shoreline holds a sense of stillness without becoming static. Rather than capturing a single moment, the painting gathers many days into one quiet field of light and presence.
Collecting this panel on its own offers a complete experience, while reuniting it with the companion panels restores the triptych’s full visual journey.

Exploring the other panels in this triptych reveals how time of day, movement, and mood shift across the Safety Harbor shoreline.
Original landscape painting
Created in Safety Harbor, Florida
Unstretched canvas
One panel of a three-piece triptych
This painting was created in Safety Harbor, Florida and was featured as part of the visual setting for my Behind the Art Inspiration podcast. It later traveled through a series of exhibitions across Italy. To accommodate international transport, the original painting was separated into three canvases, forming a triptych while preserving the continuity of the image. Following its exhibitions abroad, the work returned to my studio.
