Twilight at Sacro Monte is a mixed media acrylic painting on 32hx54w unstretched canvas depicting a church with white walls, a large dome with a cross atop, under a starry and moonlit sky. The church is nestled in the mountains above the town of Varallo in Italy. It is flanked by a palm tree adorned with gold and a whimsical tree. Gold stars fill the deep blue sky, and a large moon with a golden glow illuminates the scene.

This painting traveled the world before landing in my home studio to be completed. I started it on-site at the lovely retreat at Sacro Monte, then painted it on a hot rooftop in Montenegro overlooking the Adriatic Sea.
